As we in Take Back Our Union (TBOU) struggle to win this bitter election lets not forget that battles for union democracy and membership control of unions are taking place all over the country.One of the most important and courageous struggles for internal union democracy we've witnessed in a long time is being waged by the National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW).
At this moment the first major vote, involving 10,000 home care workers in Fresno is underway.SEIU has imported hundreds of paid staff from all over the country, encouraging a thuggish attitude to beat NUWH.Trustee Dave Regan showed an ugly face exhorting these hired ground troops to "put a stake through the heart of NUHW.This type of behavior should sound familiar to TBOU members as we have encountered these tactics from Toussaint/Tate and UI . So next week please come out and support :
